Even when you are fairly certain about things you should be doing to move your life forward, you often choose not to do those things. This comes from a sense of rebelliousness, and amounts to cutting off your nose to spite your face. Why do you have such a strong reaction to being told what to do?
Even when you're telling it to yourself! You can be willful and stubborn. You are far more committed to your independence and freedom than you are to relationships or activities that will help you develop your life path or your unique contribution to the world. You may have an unusual lifestyle that isn't really compatible with more traditional ways of living. You may do things that shock people for no other reason than to give yourself a laugh. Radical behavior could drive others away, which is too bad, because they could actually be useful in helping to get you on track. As you mature, it will become more likely that you recognize this and are able to take advantage of it.
