The Ugly Truth About Virgo

Kelli Fox

Have you ever encountered a stubborn Taurus or a brassy Leo? How about a sneaky Scorpio or a playboy Sagittarius? Do any of these undesirable characteristics ring a bell? Each sign has a positive side as well as a negative one. The not so nice characteristics are the ones we can grow and learn from, particularly when it's someone else who's rubbing us the wrong way. Once we gain an understanding of where someone is coming from it's easier to have empathy and understanding. For now, let's take a fun poke at your sign and their not so charming traits!

This sign is the pettiest and most critical of the zodiac. They’re the epitome of a nag and drive others nuts with their constant nit-picking and fault finding. Virgo will notice and pay attention to things others find mundane and boring.

Virgo is the sign of service aka masochist. Who else likes to be bossed around and run around after others while constantly complaining – it makes no sense to the rest of us. Actually, complaining is their favorite pastime and they only feel loved when they’re picking up after those they love. They’re quite petty and seek perfection where none exists. Heaven help their long suffering partner – how do they put up with this sign? It's probably because Virgo cleans and picks up after them.

This is the sign of the virgin and of course we all know that’s because of their prudish ways. They come across like a holy saint but once the lights are off they are the devil in disguise. Many people don’t realize the shadow of this sign can be cheap, easy and slovenly. Looking at the flip side makes their complaining easier to live with.

Virgo is a constant worry wart which creates a nervous disposition. To counter-balance this they pop pills which they call 'vitamins' and the doctor’s waiting room is a home-away-from-home for this sign. Plain and simple, Virgo is a hypochondriac. In the guise of taking their grandmother, old neighbor or sick pet to the doctor they’ll add on a few more ailments to get the medication they need for their self-diagnosed problems.

Their stinginess is inexhaustible. They always seem to be counting their pennies and writing up budgets and to-do lists. They’re extremely fussy and actually kind of boring because they enjoy cleaning house, mopping the floors and ironing clothes etc…No task is too small or mundane to satisfy this fuss-budget sign.

Im a full blown Virgo. I can honestly admit to an 85-90% accuracy of a virgo personality. Im set in my opinions, love to argue just for fun. Most of all High Perfectionism. Doesnt make me a bad guy, a person just needs to pick up on body language. Cool piece. Nice to have a positiive article…

You’ve got it from the start. It’s hard to read about yourself when it’s so spot on. I’m ashamed of myself. I have to figure out how to change My ways. Got any suggestions?

I think Virgos are true for humanity and understand the importance of self worth and value from these so called “petty things.” Others always have their head in the sky with unreal expectations of life. Virgos understand the importance of working from the ground up and building a stable life. Virgos don’t get excited over overpriced ventures or a so called thrill, we like to balance ourself with nature and find the things that not only are enjoyable but bring true value to life. Which are, good relationships with the people around that you can trust. Most other’s don’t understand the self delusions and childish fantasies that take control of their own life, they would rather childishly blame others that are threaten their alter egos.

I agree with you I’ve been with Virgo, and yea Virgo is a hypochondriac. In the guise of taking their grandmother, old neighbor or sick pet to the doctor they’ll add on a few more ailments to get the medication they need for their self-diagnosed problems.Their stinginess is inexhaustible. They always seem to be counting their pennies and writing up budgets and to-do lists. They’re extremely fussy and actually kind of boring. They are self centered too, they think they can easily get women and every body likes or adoring him.

I found it interesting to learn about my sign. But you know what they say…. “don’t believe everything you read” I found this article offensive & it seems to me that you had a bad experience with a Virgo and you’re just using one sample as a representative of a whole.

It’s eye-opening when you read about yourself, especially the not so nice/shadow side of your personality. Virgos will read this article and then, they must explain to you (the reader) why these things do not pertain to them. That’s a very Virgo thing to do. Something that I didn’t feel was thoroughly discussed is the perfectionism. It’s not always a negative thing depending on your career. If you’re a book editor, or a surgeon, that’s the kind of person you want in that job. It’s not always a positive thing, especially if you expect other people to do everything as you do things. For myself, I find that some of my perfectionism is due to self-doubt about how I dress (I change clothes many times, not due to vanity, but due to criticism about how this looks, or that looks). When working, or really anything, I am a perfectionist, but I realize that as something is considered “perfect”, one second later, it is not. And, you can become quite neurotic worrying about it. It’s been a struggle, but I’m learning to walk away from things and let others take the lead, or do as they wish on a project. And guess what? It didn’t kill me,…really. Bottom line for me is that I recognize that perfectionism is a way to control things, even when you think you’re being helpful. While growing up, I had no control over all sorts of things that happened to me; some not so great. So, I control my environment as much as is possible. I have learned to leave others alone while I do it. BTW, yes, I am a hypochondriac. (I have 4 medicine cabinets full of medicines, in case of emergencies. Believe me, I’m ready for any medical emergency in my household. And, yes the medicines are in alphabetical order!
      Ha! Ha! Ha!
