When you first meet, you may feel that you were drawn to each other by powerful forces -- that this friendship was somehow meant to be, and you found each other through pure fate. Take caution with this type of thinking, though, even if you and your buddy both feel this heady sense of connection. There's a high probability here that your expectations are overblown.
Consciously or unconsciously, you'll both project your own needs and expectations onto each other, which rarely leads to satisfaction on either side. You'll simply expect too much of your friend, and of yourself when you're with them. Give yourself some time and space, and don't convince yourself that this person is the answer to all your friendship needs. But do enjoy the wonderful times you'll have when you're together.
