Honored as “America’s Funniest Person” in 1982 by Showtime, Ellen DeGeneres has kept us in stitches for a long time. Her serious yet simplistic style has won her over a dozen Emmy awards for her television talk show as well as a Saturn award for her voice role in the animated movie “Nemo.”
Born under the sign of Aquarius, the water bearer, Ms DeGeneres is someone who marches to the beat of her own drum. True to her sign, she is unique and different and decided to come out of the closet on The Oprah Winfrey Show in 1997. In 1998 she married fellow Aquarian, Portia deRossi, which attracted a lot of media attention. Two Aquarians together definitely make for a wild and crazy connection.
Ellen has Venus next to the Sun. When Venus and the Sun form a conjunction the individual is usually attractive and liked by others. There’s a personable and friendly vibe to this aspect. With both planets in Aquarius she probably has a lot of friends and acquaintances in her social circle.
Uranus, planet of the unusual, is in an opposition to the Sun and Venus. This aspect denotes someone who is not traditional or conservative. People with this influence can be considered radical and unpredictable. Uranus is the planetary ruler of Aquarius so the Aquarian attributes are amplified.
With Mars in Sagittarius, she most likely has been telling jokes her whole life. This placement makes for someone who likes to joke around, is quick on their feet and will get over their hissy fits just as quickly as they got into them. With Saturn, planet of discipline and responsibility, the energy of Mars gets directed so the jokes are well thought out, well timed and well delivered. What looks like an off-the-cuff moment would have been planned and rehearsed well in advance.
Ellen also has Jupiter and Neptune conjunct in Scorpio. This is an intense aspect when it comes to beliefs, values and spirituality. It seems she has some very deep philosophies when it comes to her faith. Loyalty means a lot to her and with the influence of her Sagittarius planets “The Truth” is what would matter the most. When she came out as a lesbian on international television this not only took courage but enabled her to move forward with what she holds as her truth. Her beliefs may be that of a “way out” Aquarian but with the following she has she can turn the tides of public opinion.
