What’s the Best Job for You?

What’s the best career choice for a person like you? How can you use the talents and abilities of your sign to take you as far as possible in your vocation? Can you find work that will inspire, encourage and permit you to do something you love?

Aries

People born under the sign of Aries are often competitive and quite physical. Therefore, Aries, you would be an excellent physical education teacher, outdoor guide, dog walker, personal trainer or professional athlete. You could even work for a sports organization, helping to organize team sports or a league.

Leadership is another prominent Aries quality, making you a potential CEO, or at least management material. The impatient Aries personality likes to go fast, so careers such as a pilot or driver fulfills this need. Simply being around bikes, cars or airplanes will work!

Heat is another Aries attractor, so you’ll find lots of them at forges, factories, and kitchens. The old nursery rhyme line “the butcher, the baker, the candlestick maker” certainly tapped into this fiery energy! Firefighting is another great job for Aries. Those born under the sign of the Ram are also naturally skilled with knives and blades, so careers such as carpentry, logging, surgery, haircutting and kitchen prep are appropriate.

Aries is also well known as the sign of conflict, fighting and war, introducing many possible careers. Any type of military service, short- or long-term, active duty or reserve, attracts Aries. Jobs that support the military also make sense. Firearms are Aries territory, so careers in police work and law enforcement help you express your fundamental nature.

Taurus

As one of the hardest-working signs of the Zodiac — and the most dependable — you can be a prized employee no matter what career you chose or where you decide to work. So why not choose a profession that best suits your fundamental nature? Yours is a sign that loves nature and the outdoors, so working as a farmer or gardener is ideal. Being a botanist, zoologist or park ranger gets you outside for long periods of time.

Other skilled careers like carpentry, contracting, building or architecture also require a lot of field work. Taurus is a sign associated with money, which suggests careers in banks or banking, finance, investment, loans, venture capitalism or any place where money is handled. You’d make a fine financial advisor, stockbroker or money manager, thanks to your natural good sense about the best use of resources. Luxury is also a Taurus domain, so you could gravitate to designing, creating or selling any high-end product such as jewelry or fine arts.

On the other hand, you’re eminently practical, physically strong, and you love routine. Therefore, sensible, always-in-demand jobs such as plumbing, mechanics, construction or repair are appropriate, and give you the regularity you crave. Careers in public utilities such as power or water fill this bill, too. Taurus people place a lot of importance on eating well, so the food industry attracts many people born under the sign of the Bull. There are many Taurus bakers and cooks! No matter what profession you choose, Taurus, you’re sure to bring your special brand of strength, stability and endurance to it.

Gemini

With your love of variety and need for stimulation, it’s likely you’ll have more than one career in your lifetime. And it’s best if your day-to-day routine includes plenty of activity and lots of co-workers. Yours is one of the most mentally active and curious signs in the zodiac, so careers that take advantage of your intelligence and ability to process lots of information are best for you.

Teaching is a natural choice, because there is so much to learn, and so much information to relay. Could it get any better for you? Being a wordsmith of any sort — writer, editor, or secretary — keeps your mind in tip-top shape. In a similar vein, networking and information processing could be an ideal choice, in careers such as journalism, reporting, dispatching or teleprompting.

You could be a technical writer or work at a radio or TV station, where you could be in front of the microphone or camera, but would more likely be found behind the scenes. How about a newspaper, magazine or website? Any job where information flows through your mind and fingers is excellent. Clerical jobs take advantage of this gift, as do careers in more technical areas such as software design, telecommunications and computer design or repair.

You also make an excellent go-between: after all, your ruling planet is Mercury, the messenger of the gods! Therefore any sort of delivery, relay or transportation job suits you. Also, jobs in retail and commerce are good, taking advantage of your social skills.

Cancer

Cancer is the most traditional, domestic sign of the zodiac and for this reason, you’ll probably have no desire to leave home in order to earn money. You prefer to work from the comfort of your own four walls, and choose jobs or careers that make this possible, ranging from homemaking or “domestic engineering” to writing to telecommuting.

You’ll find lots of Cancers at the helm of a cottage industry or home business, creating or marketing any product that can be produced very locally. Or, if you don’t work from your own home, you could take up employment at someone else’s residence, as a cook or gardener, child care, cleaning, housekeeping, interior or exterior design. Cancer is a sign that is strongly associated with food, so any career that is involved with food production, transport, storage or preparation is entirely appropriate.

Those periods at the beginning and ending of life are a primary concern for Cancer. Pregnancy, childbirth and childrearing are all in Cancer’s domain, making midwifery, obstetrics, childcare, pediatrics and education very good choices for your sign. Health care and wellness have great interest, too, so you’ll find many Cancers in these fields. Sometimes, these concerns combine, so you would make an excellent school dietitian, breastfeeding counselor or child nutritionist.

Elder care is another field where Cancer would feel quite comfortable, as well as hospice care, estate planning or retirement counseling, taking advantage of the Cancer’s need to help and your inborn tendency to understand how to handle resources.

Leo

You brighten up a room just by walking in, Leo, so you gravitate towards careers where your face can be seen by the maximum number of people possible. That’s why teaching is a very common profession for those born under the regal sign of the Lion, since a teacher must be comfortable under the scrutiny of many pairs of eyes, each and every day! Often Leos are placed as the “public face” of a company or corporation, such as a spokesperson or liaison, in sales or at the front desk.

Of course, Leos are well known for their dramatic ability, so you’d be suited for acting, entertaining, theatrics, drama or any type of support field, such as fashion and costume design, production or direction, set design, TV, radio or movie work — the list goes on and on! You could also find an audience as a performer, musician, minister or preacher, civic leader, politician or as a public, inspirational or promotional speaker.

Leos are involved in politics at every level, thanks not only to the publicity surrounding the position, but also because it provides an opportunity to develop another important Leo quality: leadership! That’s why you’ll find a high percentage of Leos in top positions in corporations, schools, companies and government.

CEO, principal, president, director, your highness — these are titles that Leo wears well. That said, Leos do love to help others be their best, so you could also be very effective as a life or sports coach, hairdresser, cosmetician or in sales or retail.

Virgo

No other sign of the zodiac takes as much joy in service as yours, Virgo. That’s why any profession that includes the word “service” is appropriate for you, and the list is long! Customer service, to begin with. Then there’s food service: cook, food prep, or baker, nutritionist, food research and development, growing or selling produce, and so on.

You’re also quite technical, able to handle complex sciences and details. That’s why careers in botany, food science or nutrition could call to you. Don’t forget the field of health care, where an alarming number of Virgos work. You’ll find them in hospitals, clinics and offices everywhere: doctors, nurses, medical technicians and aides, therapists, medical assistance, office support, emergency services — every aspect of this huge field is appropriate for Virgo. Veterinary work is also good, particularly for small animals. With your love of detail and natural administrative ability, bookkeeping and accounting are ideal for you, and you can make an excellent analyst or statistician. You can also handle complex machinery and can be very skilled at diagnosis and repair.

This mastery of detail is crucial in fields such as research, information technology and management, database analysis, software engineer, technical writing, research and architecture. Computer design, research, construction or repair could attract you.

Then, there’s public service, where many Virgos take pride in administering the laws and programs of the land. The non-profit sector is another likely place of employment for service-driven, humble Virgo. You could cover all the bases and be a service coordinator! As a talented craftsperson, your skills could be in demand.

Libra

You have the gift of bringing people together, so take advantage of this ability when choosing your career. Libra is known first and foremost as the sign of love, romance and marriage. You’d be a natural at any profession that depends upon the urge for people to partner up, and provides services for the ceremonies that mark these occasions. This includes not just the wedding planner, but the person performing the ceremony, the florist, dressmaker, musicians and so on.

Many other careers depend upon this ability to create cooperation and consensus: diplomat, mediator, negotiator, liaison, broker and translator. Other related fields such as counseling, psychology and psychiatry come naturally to you, especially couples counseling. Beauty and balance are Libran activities: careers such as jeweler, weaver or other artisan are wonderful expressions of this energy.

The legal field also belongs to Libra; everything from the judge, lawyer, legal assistants and secretary, to the court reporter, bailiff and jury. Law enforcement and police or detective work require the Libra ability to judge character and situations. Quality control is a wonderful job for your sign.

Libra is a sign known for being socially adept and others oriented. For this reason, the hotel and hospitality industry is a good fit, as are human resources and customer service. Libran good taste is legendary, so careers that require a good eye and level of artistry are excellent, such as a beautician, artist, florist, interior or exterior decorator. You could naturally excel at fashion design, manufacture and sales, or could go far on your musical ability.

Scorpio

No one can keep a secret quite as well as you, Scorpio, and that’s something you can use in your career, as you are placed in positions that require discretion. You thrive in the midst of intelligence organizations, top-level or secret negotiations or handling confidential papers or very expensive goods. This ability to keep a confidence could help you be an excellent clergy person, priest, monk, shaman or spiritual counselor or therapist.

Your natural urge to investigate and your capacity to fearlessly plunge into the depths makes you the perfect candidate for certain professions that repel others: surgery, medicine, nursing, hospital or medical tech, emergency medical technician, waste management. Scorpio rules anything under the ground, so people born under this sign are found in great numbers in underground construction, sewer work, mining, drilling, tunnels and in the oil industry.

Scorpios love to research deeply into one subject, so you could excel in any type of research and development. Yours is one of the signs associated with money, so you could do very well in industries such as banking and loans, property valuation, assessor, financial analyst, venture capitalist, fortune hunter, accounting and finance. In fact, resource management is an excellent Scorpio profession, as is logistics, and you could be an outstanding chief financial officer.

Because many Scorpios have a natural ability to understand others’ motivations, you could make an excellent psychologist, psychiatrist or counselor. By the same token, certain Scorpios can make very effective spiritual leaders or advisors, due to their understanding of the workings of the subconscious.

Sagittarius

You’re lucky! There’s such a wide array of Sagittarius-suitable careers that you may have trouble choosing just one! Yours is a sign that loves to travel abroad and see the world, so any job related to the travel industry is an excellent choice. You could be a travel agent, for example, or work for an airline as a pilot, attendant or in any support position. Cruise ships, railroads and other forms of long-distance transportation are also suitable.

The hotel and hospitality industry is another natural draw for Sagittarius, and includes a wide range of jobs from maintenance and housekeeping to desk clerk to entertainer to general manager. These fields often permit travel, as do leisure and tourism businesses. Your sign is known for being enthusiastic and having the ability to inspire and promote others. This leads to career tracks in professions such as marketing, advertising, publishing or broadcasting, where your abilities to announce and circulate are well used.

Because Sagittarius is also a sign associated with religion, you may inspire others through preaching or proselytizing, or may work in a church or other religious institution. Higher education is also the realm of Sagittarius, so jobs in and around colleges, universities and institutes have definite appeal. You’d also make a fine tutor and an effective teacher for young people.

Sagittarius is one of the signs associated with the legal profession, which opens the door for many different careers from mail delivery to full partner, from working for a non-profit to charging top dollar for your services.

Capricorn

You’re as solid as they come, Capricorn, so you are naturally drawn to careers that help you develop your mastery of the physical plane. A builder at heart, you could make an outstanding carpenter, contractor or architect. Engineering of any sort is a perfect job choice for you, since you take more basic skills and apply them on a grand level. Any aspect of design, construction or production is good, because jobs that create actual physical items fulfill your need to feel like you’ve done something productive at the end of the day.

Capricorn organizational and administrative skills are legendary, so positions which require those responsibilities are excellent choices for you. You may be placed in clerical, management, administrative or assistant positions. Here you’re likely to be under recognized and underpaid, but you are often the “glue” that holds the office together.

Truthfully, you function just as well in a leadership role, thanks to your incredible work ethic and sense of personal ownership and authority. Capricorns thrive in hierarchical institutions such as corporations and governments, where they can develop and mature over time as they climb the corporate ladder.

On the other hand, many Capricorns are self-employed or run their own business, taking full advantage of their inborn ability to initiate, direct and manage. Capricorn likes to be the boss! That’s only natural for a master of the earthly plane. There are many Capricorns in the medical field, also, working as nurses, doctors, and particularly in such specialties as orthopedics, dentistry and geriatrics, or working with the aging.

Aquarius

Electricity is the great attractor for you, Aquarius, which means that a profession as an electrician or in the electronics industry is a perfect career choice for you. You’re also drawn to anything cutting edge, radical, scientific or technical, which opens up career possibilities by the hundreds! You could be a full-fledged scientist in one of any number of specialties, but that is not strictly necessary.

You could work in or around a laboratory or any place where scientific research is conducted, or in any support position. The same is true of the technical field, which includes not just software design but also computer manufacture, retail and repair, and all the industries that support this effort, including microchip manufacture, processors and the delivery of these goods. Since you love modern technology and gadgets, why not work in the high tech, gaming or telecommunications industry? Nanotechnology is the new thing, and it’s right up your alley, along with genetics research and bioengineering.

With your love of invention and innovation, you excel in the design department, or research and development, where your breakthroughs can be recognized. Not surprisingly, you’re an independent soul, and need a certain amount of autonomy on the job. That’s why you may choose to be self-employed, running your own business or operating as an independent contractor, doing what you do best, but on your own schedule and by your own choosing.

You could also be a project manager, since you think outside the box and come up with great ideas, but you also have the required administrative, logistical and accounting ability.

Pisces

Flexible as a dolphin, you’ll navigate successfully through any number of professions, Pisces, but you’ll be happier in a career that caters to your sensitive, intuitive nature. Pisces is known as the sign of healing, and not surprisingly, the health care industry is swimming with people born under the sign of the Fishes! Not just doctors and nurses, either. You can be particularly effective as a therapist of any sort: physical therapy, water therapy, energy worker, massage, color or aromatherapy; the list goes on and on.

Since Pisces rules the feet, you may choose to be a podiatrist or foot doctor, or focus on the feet in your healing work. You might work in shoe design, production or sales. You could use your creative side in fashion design or modeling, art or music or as a creative or artistic director. You are awake to the power of images, so a career as a graphic artist or photographer is ideal, or you could enter the film industry as a screenwriter, videographer, costume designer, cosmetics and makeup, hair, or any other support position.

Pisces is a sign of service, so a career in customer service or in the health, food or public service sectors is very appropriate for you. Your sign is known to be compassionate, so many Pisces people work in nonprofit, religious or spiritual organizations, or in philanthropic operations, under the radar and without a lot of recognition. Since Pisces is a Water sign, you may navigate your way to a career in the navy, or in boating, shipping or fishing.
